   Hello,
   Great question. Yes, I agree with others in the fact that if you really want to establish yourself a website or blog, you should get your own domain.
   It is the same as renting vs buying. You can rent an apartment your whole life, but you never own it. If you own a house, you usually pay the same (or even less since the house goes up in value and you get your money back when you sell it). The difference is you own the house.
   You may be able to get a free space at some place like blogger or wordpress. But what if they cancel your account all of a sudden? Or what if your site gets really big, then you will probably want to change it to your own domain, and it can be a pain telling everyone to enter a new URL to go to your site.
   You own the domain, which means you can sell it if you ever decide to sell your website. Domains grow in value because of the traffic that flows through them. Just image how much money you could make if you had a domain like free.com or something. People would be typing it into their browsers all day.
   Conclusion:
   It is definitely worth having for the measly $10 bucks a year. You can even sell it if you decide to cancer your website and get all of your money back (in most cases), or even make a profit.    It’s definitely a good marketing tool. It makes your site easy to find and also shows people that you are serious with what you are doing and not just a “fly-by-nighter”. It also puts you higher on the search engines if you subscribe for a 2 yr domain. The one year and less they consider as “spammers” and don’t give as much consideration to.
   Besides, you can generally set one up for less than 10 bucks a year.

   Absolutely. If you a serious webmaster like I am, then you must have a website domain.
   Just think for example, if you own a company website, would you want your website to be like this?>>

   OR LIKE THIS?>> http://www.yoursite.com
   No one will take any good website seriously by having a domain like the 1st one.

   As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name.    otherwise it’l only be a .piczo or whatever website
   for a .com ect you need to get a domain name
