Selling Domain Names – Plan – Buying Local Business Names When They Start Up?
So im thinking of buying out domain names to local businesses that start up (car washes, restraunts etc). Like a car wash in till town, buying out tilltowncarwash.com .. Then turning around telling them I have their name and seeing if they would like to purchase for a smalll amount (500- 1000 dollars). Does anyone have any experience doing something similar to this? Have you been successful? Its a free market place, so its fair.

If I Own The Only Domains That Identify The Name Of A Popular Region, How Much Are They Worth?
No one else has my set of names, .com, etc., that capture the name of a region with 150,000 people and attracts millions of tourists a year. I haven’t done much with it except attach a message board, that gets 10,000 views a day.
What do you think this .com name would fetch?

Can Anybody Please Tell Me If They Know If Regional Service Domain Names Are Worth Much Money??
Local region names like from large cities with a popular consumer need like chicagoskating, sanfranciscoguide.com, newyorkfootball.com, are worth $50-$500 bucks. The price can go as high as a twenty thousand dollars, and as low as 20 bucks. The regional names has to be easy to remember, spell and short enough in letters to be useful (and no dashes or numbers).
The market demand is based on the other companies/persons need. You might end up paying for domains that can not sell for years. But it takes only domain that someone needs to recoup your investment.
Go to this site to see examples. Enter in a few city names in the advance search:
Here are some example prices of regional names:
mychicagodogs.com – – $5
rechicago.info – – $5
mpchicago.com – – $10
gfechicago.com – – $10
ceeceechicago.com $10
chicagopie.com – – $800
chicagotravel.com – – $58,000
chicagoguard.com – – $700
chicagodryers.com – – $1,400
If the domain name is not as popular like maplecityhooks.com it not worth much. Keep in mind that regional domain names are not what they used to be. Now search engines want verbage on the region writtin in the web page. The regional name in teh domin is a very small part now.
*.com is alwas the best. ANy other domain name like ws, etc are good for that locality but .com’s are the stadnard defacto. And if you use a regional domain name, people will think .com not the regional. This is why regiional names are not worth anything.

Trying To Come Up With A New Photography Name.. Any Ideas? We Tried Miragephoto.com But They Want 1500 For It.
Does ANYONE have any suggestions on a good domain name for a photography biz? We want a generic but catchy name, that doesn’t limit us to any certain type of photography, in other words ‘weddingspportraits’ doesnt work, because we also do real estate, products photos, etc
We thought of MiragePhoto.com but they want 1500.00 as its a premium domain, im not opposed to spending money on a super nice domain… Something Elegant or that can pass for elegant, so nothing too trendy like iPhotograhy.com or something.
We also dont plan to use anyone of our photographers NAMES, ANY SUGGESTIONS For what other words you can use as prefixs/postfixes for photo, photography, etc?
Like “Pro” then “photo.com” , obviously this is taken. If anyone has cool suggestions, you can check the availability at www.GWDHost.com , but dont register it, LOL ! So dont get our hopes up with any idea, thats already taken… though it’s ok to send us words that are really cool/photography like, such as ‘infinity, exposure, glass, prime etc. ”
We’ve been at this for days, hopefully looking for your reply.

On Godaddy.com They Try To Upsell You To Premium Service?
After you put in the domains that you want for the low low price – they kind of threaten you by saying now all your private information is going to be waving in the breeze on the Internet. And of course they then offer you a solution to your dilemma – at still more cost. So a few questions.. if you register with other registrar will they keep your information private at no extra charge? Or do they all require extra fees to keep your name and address etc private? And lastly – how are godaddy’s fees compared to other registrars if you compare both their basic domain name service and their premium “keep your address etc private” service??
