There are free Domain names that you can find the only catch is that you have to pay a precessing fee that is the only catch. You may not like that adds but to get rid of them just do a little research and find ones that have only the minimal ones that is still free that will save you alot

I think it is high and you usually can negotiate it down quite a bit.
You just have to determine how much money you expect to generate. If $10K is a minor amount you will be doing over the next year, it’s not that big of a deal.
If you think the name is going to bring you extra revenue, you really need to do a lot more work learning about doman names.
For instance if your company is ABCDEF company then the value for abcdef.com is worth a lot to you.
If you are thinking about selling shoes and socks, shoesandsocks.com will never pay off unless you are the biggest in the industry.

Paying ten grand for a domain name is ludicrous.
