I Have A Question About Expired Domain Names?

Is there somewhere on the web I can find out who the previous owner of a certain domain name was, and what kind of site it was origionally?
I own a domain name that I bought recently, and I’m finding it listed on some sites as having expired in January of 2008. Is there a place on the web I can get more info?

  1. Look for it on the wayback machine. You’ll be able to see what it looked like. Just put in the URL and pick a date from the list you’ll get.

You could try a website like namejet.com You can buy expired domains until they are deleted. They may still have some information but if you bought it already, that information may already be changed.

  3. Sadly not, unless you get in contact with a complaint to the domain’s registar the information is not kept publically available (try google cache perhaps) past the ending of the registration date.
