How Can I Choose A Good Domain Name?

I want to start my very own tech-related blog/website. I saw both because I want to have a multitude of things like videos, music, etc.
The thing is…I cannot come up with a good name/domain for it. I’ve tried suggestion tools and everything, but still no luck. How can I come up with a good name? Any suggestions?

I have used the suggestion tool at http://www.domaincityhosting.com and it worked out well for me.
But if you have a catchy nick-name try (nick-name)tech.com
Also if the .com is taken, .net or .info will work for a tech/information site.

Humm a good domain name for a tech related blog with video, music, and more. That sounds like a site you will create with your own interests related to tech.. so really the sky is the limit. I would try a keyword you are passionate about along with a tech word. Few important things to remember related to domains:
    1) Keep it catchy
    2) Keep it short
    3) Make it rememberable
    4) Make it dummy proof and easy to spell
Here are a few examples to get u brainstorming(please note I am giving suggestions and do not know if these names are taken or not):
    TechMe.com
    TechPoop.com < – I own this one(let me know if you want)
    CrazyRobot.com
    TechTv.com
    MyTechRobot.com
Make it a name you are proud of will in the end be the most important factor. ;)
Feel free to email me for more suggestions and to bounce domain ideas off me.

First off, ignore that guy’s advice above and steer clear of goldenpuma.com or whatever it was. That site is a Godaddy reseller, which means you are registering through the owner’s Godaddy account, and you usually can’t take advantage of Godaddy discounts on renewals. Of course, most Godaddy resellers don’t exist any more by the time renewal comes around. In all, a big pain in the neck. Go directly to Godaddy, Name, Namecheap or any major registrar except 1&1, Network Solutions, and (sorry) Yahoo. All three have high renewal fees or other problems.
Now to the point. Many have made good suggestions. I would suggest another way to get ideas. Go to http://www.justdropped.com/ and search using keywords for names that have been dropped in the past week or so. You sometimes find great names this way. If you’re lucky, they have a few backlinks. Most importantly, it means that someone else liked the name enough to register it once. It’s a great place to go for ideas, too. There may be thousands of names to browse through.
I would suggest having a specific and relevant keyword somewhere in your name, too. It could even be as simple as tech-something. This will help you gain visitors once the site is up. If you start with just a cool name, like Geezer or something, people (and search engines) will have less idea what the site is about.

Don’t trust any cheap service, many of them don’t allow you to have full control on your domain name. If you’re going to buy domain names, http://www.goldpuma.com/domain is the lowest cost service which is full-featured and really works for you ($9.99 /year). They offer free extras with every domain name:
    Quick Blogcast
    Hosting with Web site builder
    Personalized Email Account
Starter Web Page For Sale/ Parked Page
    Domain Parking
    Domain Forwarding
    Domain Masking
    100-Pack Email Forwarding
    Total DNS Control
    Change of Registration
    Status Alerts
    Domain Locking

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.
If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.
As an experienced webmaster I recommend BlueHost service which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.
