I have two domains.
Lets call them ABC.com and XYZ.com
They both point to the same website (but it serves up different content depending which domain they use to arrive at the site. But its all hosted on the ONE account).
Is there any problem with setting up a single MySQL database that both domains can access?

That’s entirely up to your hosting provider.
Assuming they are on the same account as each other, and as the MySQL database, there should be no reason why not. Access to the database should have nothing to do with the domain name.
yes.
two types of domains or more can use one database.
I can even setup another web site here or write a desktop applications and access u’r database, provided that I have the credentials to log in to u’r db.
